Magic Pete visits The Isle of Arran

Magic Pete was lucky to do a show on the beautiful Isle of Arran this month for 6yr old Gavin.

It was a long day. Starting off at 8am from Larbert to catch the 9.45am Ferry to the Isle of Arran. Then we had a little look around the Island and visited a quaint little shop that sold the famous Arran Mustard and Jam, and plenty of it! Next Magic Pete did Gavin’s 6th Birthday Party which was great! The weather was really sunny too! Which helped as the part was outdoors.

I would like to thank Denise, Gavin’s mum for her very kind hospitality. The scones were amazing!

Next it was time to pack up and head back to the ferry. Not before a quick go on the Dodgems and an Ice Cream at the port! We finally arrived back at 7pm! It was a tiring but thoroughly enjoyable day!!

Kinnaird Primary School Summer Disco

Saturday was a very busy day this weekend. It started off with a 1 hour Magic and Puppet show in beautiful Lochearnhead. Then it was off to The Leahpark Hotel, Grangemouth were I peformed 2 hours of close-up magic at a Wedding and then it was off to Kinnaird Primary School for their School Summer Disco.

The night comprised of 30mins background music whilst everyone arrived. Then an hour of fun and games for all the kids who’s ages ranged from 3 – 10 year olds! Which was great fun! Then a half hour family magic show catering again for all the kids and their parents, and finally a disco for the last 1 1/2hr.

The night was a huge success and very enjoyable. To quote one of the PTA members ‘I’ve been to every function held at the school since the school opened and that was by far the best night we’ve ever had!’

A lovely compliment and I thank you very much.

CONGRATULATIONS MAGIC PETE!!!

Congratulations to Peter Kinney (Magic Pete) as he has just won the ‘Scottish Stage Entertainer of the Year 2011′ at this years Scottish Association of Magical Societies (SAMS) conference which was held in Dundee!

Pete beat off stiff competition from all over Scotland. There were 8 finalists from Edinburgh, Aberdeen to Kilmarnock all vying for the title.

Congratulations and well done Pete!

Magic Competion!

Scottish Stage Winner 2011

Magic Pete will be competing once again in the Scottish Championship of magic, known as S.A.M.S. (Scottish Association of Magical Societies) on Saturday April 30th and Sunday 1st May.

If you and your family would like to be entertained by some of Scotland’s leading children’s entertainers, come along to the Best Western Queen’s Hotel Dundee, 160 Nethergate, Dundee, DD1 4DU and best of all, IT’S FREE!

Later on in the afternoon there will be a stage competition too followed by a Close-Up Competition on the Sunday and Magic Pete is entered in all three compitions!

There will also be plenty of stalls to actually buy real magic!!

Magic Pete had a very happy surprise last weekend when he was given his very own Birthday Card from one of his Parties as it was Magic Pete’s Birthday last Saturday! What a surprise I got! I’d like to say a huge thank you to Olivia, Grace and Ruby who all sigend the card. I even got 7 kisses on it!

And they call it Puppy Love!

Two little girls got a very special present at one of my shows at the weekend.

After I had finished a great show, Katie and Annie couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw their present as Dad lead him in by his lead! Yes, they got a beautiful puppy! Eyes and mouths wide open, the looks on their faces was amazing!

I’m sure he’s still getting spoilt now!

Santa’s lost weight!

At one of my Christmas shows this week, Santa Claus came to give out some presents to the children. After a great show all the kids were hyper just at the thought of seeing Santa. He soon arrived and gave out all his presents to all the children who had been good for the past year, which, at this hall, was everyone this year. Before he had to leave for the North Pole, I managed to have a quick chat with him about how busy he was and wether he was going to deliver all the presents with the bad weather. Thank fully he said the weather is not a problem for him and his reindeers. Phew! That’s good news.

Santa must have been busy this year too, because he said one of the children said to him ‘Santa, you’ve lost weight’!

Even the Kids Enjoyed It!!

I had a great comment this weekend from one of my clients. After the show had finished I asked Dad if ‘John’ the Birthday Boy had enjoyed his Birthday Party. He said that he had a great time and ‘Even the Kids Enjoyed it!’  I think Dad enjoyed the Magic Show!

How did you do that?

Magic Pete came to the rescue of a fellow magician this weekend when he couldn’t get to his party due to the bad weather conditions. As it happened I had a cancellation myself by the restaurant where I work as the resident magician.

The party went brilliantly and everyone had a blast as the feedback indicates. Now as I was packing my equipment away the Manager of the hotel approached me and said he managed to catch some of  my show and he too thought it was very entertaining. But then he said to me ‘You know when you put the tissue paper in your mouth?’ ‘Yes’ I said, ‘well how did it turn into the long giant piece of tape?’ To which I replied ‘Magic of course!’

I’m Scared of Balloons!

Oh No! Magic Pete was at an 11th Birthday Party recently with a good mixture of boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 11 years Old. During my show I always like to do a funny balloon routine with the Birthday Child. So up she comes and holds on to the first balloon. Then she holds on to the second balloon. When it came to the third balloon, she didn’t want to hold it as she was a little scared of balloons! Poor Robyn! But she was a real trouper and chose someone else to stand in for her to hold the balloons! Her friend Nicola did a great job and ended up going home with a very special balloon animal !!!
